Thank you for your interest in Geology Outfitters! What we try to do is to provide to both the professional and amateur earth scientist the best equipment available and offer it at a fair price. Products we sell range from paper maps USGS and numerous state survey geologic quads and highway geologic maps to map tools. We also have a wide selection of books from the indispensable AGI Data Sheets to titles that deal with site specific areas. We also carry the classic tools of the geologist such as Brunton transits and compasses to Estwing rock hammers.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS:
For orders being shipped outside of the United States, do not order by using our web site cart.
Please email us at orders@geology-outfitters.com and include the following:
- Your name and shipping address.
- List of products.
- Your email address.
We will then promptly contact you in regards to the cost and time of shipping, along with payment information. The shipping cost is calculated using the United States Postal Service (USPS) as the provider. Shipping times vary, but are usually from 1 to 2 weeks for USPS Express Mail. If you need quicker shipping service please indicate so in your initial email inquiry.
We guarantee our shipments up to the point of entry into your country's Customs Service.
SHIPPING:
After May, 2005, all shipping will be paid for by the customer and orders shipped via UPS. UPS Ground will be the default method of shipment within the Continental United States. Additionally, UPS 2nd and 3rd Day Air will also be offered. If a customer requests, or uses P.O. Box as a shipping address, we will ship via the US Postal Service with prices being the same as UPS. If this is the case, please either email request to us at customerservice@geology-outfitters.com or call 208-573-5052.
Our Return Policy is located on the bottom of each web page in our site, except Home page. The policy can also be found on the invoice you will receive with your order.
MAPTECH TERRAIN NAVIGATOR AND TERRAIN NAVIGATOR PRO:
1)Both software packages work on desktop and laptop PCs with the following system requirements:
-Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, or XP
-Pentium-class CPU
-OpenGL Video Accelerator recommended for optimum 3-D performance
-CD-ROM drive
-32 MB RAM
-Mouse or drawing equivalent
2)Connect PC via USB to a compatible GPS unit (see list below) and be able to perform the following functions:
-Real Time Tracking on a PC screen
-Transfer of WAYPOINTS between PC and GPS
-Transfer of ROUTES between PC and GPS
-Transfer of TRACKS between PC and GPS
3)To be able to view topographic maps on a handheld PC you will need a copy of Maptech's Pocket Navigator software (see Software Product page) and be able to meet the following system requirements for your handheld:
-Pocket PC, Pocket PC 2002 Operating System. Pocket Navigator does NOT work with Palm OS (Palm, Handspring Sony) or older Windows CE (CE, CE2, CE3) devices.
-Additional storage for topo maps (approx. 2-5 Mb each).
-ActiveSynch 3.0 (or higher).
-4 Mb of free memory.

Terrain Navigator Pro Extras:
Terrain Navigator Pro includes a 1-year subscription to download aerial photos via your normal Internet connection. Any aerial photos you download are yours to keep after the subscription expires. If you need more in the future, a second year subscription is $99.95. Aerial photos are available for most areas in the continental US.
1-meter resolution aerial orthophotography is available for downloading from Maptech's Internet site. All the Terrain Navigator Pro mapping tools work with photos as well as maps.
Print full-color maps and crisp aerial photos on any standard printer or large-format plotter. The print quality is clear, sharp, and brilliant - in color or black and white. Print the maps with full USGS borders and legends. Print maps and aerial photos as seamless mosaics on one sheet.
